My Mamman has been an epitome of goodness, always giving to her husband, children, me - an orphan, poor people, known-unknown. I just cannot digest the fact why GOD is punishing her for her goodness? Seeing her suffering from cancer, these sleepless nights bring all kind of thoughts. The thoughts are really haunting me even though I am spiritually a strong person... IT’S WORST, TO BE GOOD!
Good people suffers While evils prosper O the creator of the world What kind of justice is this?
Every religion preaches The triumph of good over evil But why are the good tested While evils flourish happily?
Helpless, I often wonder Seeing good people suffer How and which way you govern your world? I am surprised. Yes, I am, O creator!
Seeing evils prosper I wish I should be evil too! I would then prosper to enjoy life Just the way you want evils to!

I am sure your beloved mamman would not want you to be evil. I'm sure she would want to you to be a good man, with as generous a heart as her own. I don't think you would enjoy life being evil. Your mamman has obviously enjoyed her life up until now, and she was not an evil person.
It's diffficult to know exactly what to say to you, but please don't think that being evil is the answer. I must admit, I felt the same when my much loved father died nearly four years ago, but I found that being good like him gave me much more satisfaction, and I could honour his memory.
As I said before, I am thinking about you and your mamman, and hope she recovers soon. Don't give up!  |

As to why: there either is no god and we have to live this life by our own initiative, or there is and he/she/it couldn't give a damn. A loving god that cares about the triumph of good over evil - I think not. Take a look around you.
Being good isn't necessarily about being like which ever god we believe in, it's about doing the right thing for the people we love.
Stick with it Johnny.

The distress of the writer is also evident.
Your mother will be heart broken if you become an evil one, she is relying on you to relect her goodness and kindness in the world when she can no longer be here to do it herself.
Just as Jesus was the image of his father in word and deed you can be so for your mother.
Don't give into the desolation.
God is the Creator and force for good.
Satan is the force for evil.
Do not be overreached by the evil, fight to keep on making your mother proud of you.
KIndest thoughts and regqrds with you at this trying time.

I have been a nurse for many years. I have seen all kinds of disease. Babies children adults, can get sick and die.
The question is not "why me" or why the good people, I would say to you why not you or me or Mama or the good . EVERYBODY dies eventually.
YOU must be there for your mother. you must be strong. She must be able to lean on you.

But it's probably exactly why each religion preaches good over evil. As mortals, how can we understand the ways of heaven? If there is indeed an afterlife and a balance between good and evil, then the good must be compensated for their suffering and the bad must be punished for their deeds.
I agree with Lyn and pasinger. The best reward you could ever give your mother is to be a good son. Even if you are not religious, you can distinguish between good and evil and you know what it is to be a good or a bad son. Be there for your mother, be the best son she could whish for and although it will cause you pain to see her pain, I'm sure it will be much, much better than having to regret anything.
Try to be as good for her as she would be for you if you were in that bed, both because she deserves it and because she is your mother. Be strong.

I just love you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so very very much for all your kind support, encouraging words, tender care, prayers and wishes for my Mamman. Goodness surely has a way to triumph over evil and you people have shown me with your love and care.
Ever since I wrote my evil thoughts in this poem, they have stopped haunting me. Also because of your loving support, I have become more stronger to see my Mamman come out of this ordeal with your prayers and support.

I wish to thank one and all from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my Mamman's health. I wish to share the good news with everybody today - My Mamman has fought the dreaded disease with gusto and millions of prayers from one & all. She has recovered completely now.
