Hope and Despair
By Evangeline
06 February 2007
In anguish, you scream
Gone, is another dream

The overwhelming fear
Has brought another tear

Backed against a wall
Stand tall

Do not give in
From here, we begin

Best not to mope
Better to have hope

After great length
Gather your strength

Hold on tight
It will be a fight

As always, life is not fair
Even then, we die in despair

I liked it.
But it left me feeling sad, no hope?? :sigh :sigh

Agree with Pat, its kind of grim. The rhyming couplets are sort of sparse too.

Hope you are not too depressed!

Got a bit lost in this. Started pretty depressingly and then rallied, only to end full of desperation again. Perhaps that was what you were trying to get across - all our hopes are false ones?

Phil.
