O O HERBE
By JohnnyD

This is a translation of a very famous Indonesian children poem that I grew up with. Happy reading!

O O HERBE

O O HERBE POURQUOI TU GRANDIS?

JE GRANDIS CAR LE VACHE NE MANGE PAS!

O O VACHE POURQUOI TU NE MANGE PAS?

JE NE MANGE PAS CAR J’AI MAL AU VENTRE.

O O ESTOMAC POURQUOI MAL AU VENTRE?

JE MAL DE VENTRE CAR RIZ NE CUIT PAS BIEN.

O O RIZ POURQUOI TU NE FAIS PAS BON?

JE NE FAIS PAS BON CAR LE FEU N’ALLUME PAS!

O O FEU POURQUOI TU N’ALLUMES PAS?

JE N’ALLUME PAS CAR LE BOIS EST HUMIDE.

O O BOIS POURQUOI TU ES HUMIDE?

JE SUIS HUMIDE CAR IL PLEUT!

O O PLUIE POURQUOI TU PLEURES?

JE PLUERE CAR GRENOUILLE M’APPELLE.

O O GRENOUILLE POURQUOI TU APPELLES LA PLUIE?

J’APPELLE LA PLUIE CAR C’EST L’ANNIVERSAIRE MON ANFANT!

My French is very old and rusty, but I think it should be "O O le bois, pourquois tu es humide" or it means "drinks" rather than "wood".

Also "Enfant" rather than "Anfant"

Oli

Good to see the old megaphone is still blasting away even if there are fuck all takers for the message. Message...!? What message? Try this one. How many crass dodos can you get on the back of a postage stamp!?.... Ooooooh! Difficult one!

Where do they get them from...!!? Seriously. WHERE DO THEY GET THEM FROM!!?

Slan!

Lesson six - reflexive verbs - the rice seems to have miraculously dragged itself out of the packet and started frying up a little risotto on the stove, in a unique act of cereal cannibalism, and there is no indication what the fire has taken it into its head to light - the rice? But the rice appears to be able to light its own cooker - an enthralling depiction of the onward struggle between fire and rice - and grammar and spelling - the errors were obviously included to add characterisation to the narrator - maybe you have, in fact, written a masterpiece...
