Draft; no editing yet. Thoughts?

Warm night in January
Flame at my fingertips and whiskey in my hand
Only friend at my side
Car full of clothes
Haven’t seen home in days
Spent so many nights in the arms of men who didn’t care
It’s easy now to spend the night in the arms of a man who isn’t there
I came here with nothing
Looks like I’ll leave with the same
I fell in love once
Haven’t fallen out yet
I reach for him sometimes
He never once looks back
He’s ten feet away
Feels like a thousand miles
I dream of the desert
Sand and scorpions
Blistering heat to burn away the past
Burn away these years
Burn away these lies
