Barrymore Book Provokes Anger
By givitsum
12 February 2007

Fallen star Michael Barrymore has, quite literally taken a leaf out of O.J. Simpson's book, and written a book describing in detail how he would have hypothetically gone about drugging Stuart Lubbock, and then sexually abusing his corpse. The book, entitled "My Kind Of Murder" has angered family and friends of Lubbock, who are still campaigning for Barrymore's to go on trial.

Many see it as a kick in the teeth/up the arse to the memory of Lubbock, though Barrymore insists it's 'purely a fictional account of how I'd have done him in, had I been so inclined'.

The book goes on to explain, in Barrymore's own words, how he would have proceeded with drowning the victim, before abusing the Lubbock arse with various household implements, and finally cleaning up the scene of the crime / manufacturing false alibi's with his sicko mates.

One excerpt toward the end, where Barrymore is imagining what he would do during the aftermath reads "... Now if I ended up getting questioned over the case, I'd initially tell the bobbies I saw the body floating in the pool. Weeks later, I might forget what I'd said, and tell them I saw him at the bottom of the pool. Should the bobby questioning me point out the inconsistency in my stories, I'd cunningly explain that by 'floating', I meant 'floating at the bottom'."

Just come back to this and noticed the title of his book. Very clever. You obviously watch too much TV, even located where ever you are. Did Barrymore travel the globe with that godawful show?

Enjoyed.

Phil.

I had to google this to find out about OJ Simpson. I didn't know he really wrote that. You couldn't make it up Of course now I'm wondering if Barrymore has actually done this. I wouldn't put it past him. He'd do anything to get back in the news.
I believe his is someone you obviously have a deep respect for. If he makes a comeback I'm sure you'll be there to comment on it.
The hate and disgust just shines through
cheers

The truth is often scarier than reality. OJ not only wrote a book, but also did a TV interview explaining 'how he'd have done it'. After public outcry the publishers pulled the plug on both projects.

Well spotted Jane, the bloke does disgust me. I didn't want to use Barrymore, as I've used and abused the twat in the past, but he's the only other 'celeb' (my arse) who has gotton away with murder (alledgedly).

Thank too Phil and Oli, compliments indeed & glad you enjoyed it. I was unlucky enough to live back in England 2000-2002 and caught a couple of his 'entertainment' offerings. I think Lubbock's dad has written a book called "Not Awight Now!", pointing out all the oddities in this case, and there are many. Best of luck to him and his crusade for justice.

Cheers also marybarry. I can't win 'em all :)

Brilliantly unPC Chris as always. Ironically if he were to write a book along these lines it would no doubt make him a small fortune. It never ceases to amaze me how people will fork out twenty quid or more for a `celeb` biography when if they wait a week or two they could get it for pence in the Oxfam shop....

Well done my friend

Hello Chris,

It amazes me how very possible some of the not news posts are, i think that is why they are so funny because as Mrs B points out some of them are so close to the mark it actually makes you wonder if it is news!
And of course your writing style is as brilliant as ever Mr G! Glad to see your still writing on the site :)
Brook.
