Killing Time

Along with another bit of burble that I will post in the scripts section, this poem came to me in a dream (no really).  I woke up at about 0200 with it running on a loop through my brain so got up and jotted it down.  That was about two years ago and I've hung on to the scrap of paper for no very good reason at all, until now, when I have the chance to demonstrate that there is something not quite right about the way I think to a global audience.  Joy.

Marching time kills life dead

Sleepwalking coma through working daze

Dreams ground to ash for fates delight

The weekly ‘Oh please touch it, please' fumbling with the wife

Then back to the comfort of the TV's maw

Game shows

Millionaires, Strongest Links, Best of Breed

Greed, greed, greed

Pop idols

Naïve youth feed like chum to the watching crowd

Humiliate them, Break them, Hate them

Those young and those insane

Least they dare to dream again

Brevity is indeed the soul of wit. And this was both witty and painfully accurate.

The one thing that you missed out was the "Moron on the Wall" programmes.

Why dont we review on this Website?
