am only posting this because i'm sick of living in silence

you don't know when to stop

you don't know when to move on

or how to give up giving up

perseverance as a pathetic virtue

a poor excuse for positivity

a weak attempt to feel not lost

a dull trap with walls collapsing in

a pit, of paralysing lethargy

lost on a train track with no map

no guide, no sign, no light

no boots nor clothes

no sense of orientation

no purpose or destination

skin freezing to cold steel rails

sticking and ripping as i drag myself onward

in the dark and rain

waiting for the train

I'm surprised this piece of poetry hasn't been reviewed until now. The poem is a very dark piece but written so well. I enjoyed it very much.

Thanks LL for drawing attention to this excellent, expressive poem, I liked it. It really affected me with the intensity of feeling so finely conveyed. How about 'sick of living in silence' for a title?
