Harry to be deployed to Iraq
By Snodlander
22 February 2007
The Iraqi government and various spokesmen for Iraq’s many political and religious factions expressed concern over the growing reports of Harry’s deployment into the Iraq arena.

Ahmed ben Torquid, spokesman for the Islamic Council for Public Decency and Morals, said, “I have heard of this Harry, that he is appearing naked on the West End stage.  This is not acceptable, especially as he is so young.  In as much as his earlier work was presented in flowing robes, this was very acceptable to us, but where do we draw the line?  What next?  Will his brother follow?  We have no desire to see William’s willy.”

Tariq Youkhana echoed the sentiments on behalf of the Fundamentalist Sons of Islam movement.  “The infidel practices of unholy black magic must not be allowed to be practiced in an Islamic nation.  If Harry indeed invades our country, he must not be allowed to carry a wand, fly a broomstick or utter any incantations at all.  If any magic arts are practiced he will be struck down by our holy wrath, and we will leave more than a zig-zag scar, let me tell you.”

Doubts were also raised by the western alliance forces.  A source close to command headquarters stated, “We don’t want any of them there magic wizards practicing their evil black arts over here.  He may claim it’s only white magic, but let me tell you, boy, there ain’t no such thing.  It’s all the work of the devil, and as such weakens the moral fibre of the good boys fighting evil here, so that Iraq can enjoy the American Way like Jesus wants them to.  We turn a blind eye to some of them there Muslims here, but we don’t want none of them wizards on our side.  Well, lessen they’re KKK wizards, of course.”

Harry’s agent was unavailable for comment.

You sneaky little snodlander you. Your little trick worked I thought this was about Prince Harry. When I read the part about him appearing naked in the West End I dashed out for a copy of Hello magazine.
I do like the idea that neither of the factions are keen on Harry Potter being there for different reasons. You show up both sides of bigotry well and with sharp humour.
You do know Rowling is notoriously touchy and letigious and has more lawyers than God.

I know of an elementary school in Arcadia, California that banned J K Rowling's books because of their witchcraft subject matter. So this is hardly as far-fetched as it might seem to some.

Is Harry Potter really going to appear naked somewhere? Not that I am in the slightest bit interested, mind you.

I liked this too, but the American source doesn't sound terse enough for the military; he sounds more like a hillbilly. The Marines usually put a little edge on hillbilly accents.

So that's why they're withdrawing their troops. I thought it was to prevent that other Harry to go, but appearantly the British have a secret weapon :P

Yes, but I think that he's planning to win the Iraqi's over by talking to them about Hogroast!
