A haiku in form, but not in spirit. More of a motto I suppose. The agenda of Another always appears To take precedence. |

I have never tried to write a Haiku. But in a way it sounds kind of bitter. | Written by ellipinnock (1790 comments posted) 26th February 2007 | Jean's right - it does sound bitter - not sure whether that was what you intended. Not a haiku in spirit but thought-provoking nonetheless. As an aside - I would always have said 'take precedence' - was under the impression that you only used 'precedent' when talking about legal whatsits. Am I being daft? Godammit, where's witzl when you need her! Cheers, Elli | Written by Phil (6963 comments posted) 26th February 2007 | You're quite right Elli. Off to change it now. Thanks. Phil. | Written by Talisker (1331 comments posted) 27th February 2007 | Hmmm. Always "appears" to take precedence - so its a matter of perception. I would go so far as to say that the agendas of others often "do" take precedence. In a strong V weak, rich V poor world, it has always been thus. Resigned realism. Nothing wrong with that, so long as it doesn't turn into depression. But as a mother, with small children, you are absolutely right because the agendas of the little others always seem to take precedence.! | My life Written by bwoz (125 comments posted) 3rd March 2007 | That describes my entire work day/week. Everybody has a need, and their priority is higher than everyone elses -- and, oh by the way, "they" want you in a meeting right now. Yeah, this does lay a truth out. BW |
