a trip in Holland

Once upon a time
In a land reclaimed from sea
I lost my person
Albeit briefly

Danger lay in wait
From a tram or a bike
Or the men in those tracksuits
Selling smack and the like

But stay a while mate
That’s not how this story ends
It was me and a mushroom
That became best of friends

I gobbled a box
And started to zoom
Then all of my life
Appeared in my room

Trips to Paris then Sydney
Popped out of the night
And I said to myself
“Well this can’t be right”

On and on it all went
Would this ever cease?
Lying there crying
Time’s up – Rest In Peace

So what put a stop
To this strange fantasy?
Why it was Des Lynam’s voice
Final Score - BBC
