In the words of Morley: eij?
Not sure...help =) It's amazing how we can be blind to ourselves; no man is a better master of disguise than when he's looking in the mirror.
Perhaps the only way to see ourselves in the light of day is to watch the dirty bathwater - our own filth diluted - and even then the
rose-tint lingers, just below the surface |

I think mirrors are pretty truthful, in fact brutally so However, if you mean that they show the body, but perhaps hide the soul... For me, "filth" is quite a strong word. Unless you are doing a particularly dirty job, your bath water should resemble mine, fragrant and crystal clear. Oli | F 'n' L! My mirror lies to me all the time as I always approach it with caution and a smiling face. When you come across yourself in a mirror that you aren't expecting to find, you can get a real shock. I would work on this a little, Chloe -- perhaps put it aside for a bit -- but then come back to me. It is a good idea. | Written by Phil (6836 comments posted) 13th March 2007 | Really liked the first stanza, liked the idea of the second, but not sure it worked well enough. As a piece, it's definitely worthy of a little more attention. Phil. | Written by Kathy (220 comments posted) 21st March 2007 | I thought that this was really well observed and cleverly thought out. We do tend to delude ourselves about what or who we really are at times, it can be hard to gain a true image, as you say so well in this. For some reason, I would like to see an experiment with these two thoughts put into varying poetic forms, to see what it would do to them. I suppose that I am not sure that you have quite presented them to their best advantage. Not sure wether I have helped or hindered!
