| Retirement | |

We had a few hours with our little grandchildren yesterday (1 and 2 year olds - Daniel and Jessica). We were pulled this way and that, we tossed them up and down, ("Do it again, again!" "More, More") and were shown what you can do with playdough nowadays etc. Some people's dream? We loved every tiring minute of it, and so did they. We went to bed last night tired out. And now I've got up this morning and written this poem, I ask the question: Retirement? What exactly does it mean? R - Retirement’s arrived – they stop paying you brass.. E - Employment has gone and you’re put out to grass T - Time on your hands? Well, you may think so to start I - Idle? Try new hobbies – writing or art. R - Rest? Not when grandchildren come on the scene E - Enjoy them? Yes – grandparenting’s some people's dream. M - Money? Not if the taxman finds out that it's there. E - Eat, drink and be happy – try to let down your hair. N - Never think of old age. Say: “I’m quite young inside.” T - Then let retirement be something you take in your stride.
