The Tudors
By Fledermaus

Catherine of Aragon
could not give Henry a son
He thus founded a new faith
And queen Anne took his bait
Adultry. Off went her head
And he married Jane instead
On delivery she died
But at least she had not lied
Anne of Cleves then
Did not make him a merry man
And the second Catherine
Did commit the same old sin
He had her decapitated
And was again separated
Number six at last grew old
Or so at least I have been told

Her father was on women keen
But Liz became a Virgin Queen
Yet she did inherit her father's trait
To chop off heads behind the Tower's gate

What a (Tudor) rosy view of history you have presented.

In a little nutshell

You have successfully managed to put what other people have taken a whole book to write, in a little poem. ha ha. When I pop off, can you do the same for me? I'm not sure that the first two lines of the last verse go together well. I'll leave others to comment on this. Were you good at precis at school Fledermaus? To be more serious, some of your rhythm is a little out of kelt, and I think you need this poem split into verses - but, of course, that is just my opinion and others may not agree.

Thanks BRN and Josie.
I think I realy have to practice poetry more to get things as rhyme and rythm right :)
