Shadow
By Songster

I'm still working out my feelings about the death of my mother.

Shadow

Weaving her shroud
On a loom of lamentation
I see a shade,
A faint form, a shadow,
Peripheral movement;
Ethereal spectre,
Seen, perhaps seen,
Or not seen.
Put forth a hand to hold the haunt;
Illusory phantom,
Summoned by memory
And loss.

I thought this was very good. I particularly liked the imagery at the end. The line 'Illusory phantom summoned by memory and loss' is very moving. My dog died recently and though that hardly compares with your mother the poem did remind me of my dog.
