Its not Wordsworth, I know. Its just Talisker, relecting on his post-breakfast constitutional through the woods.
Spring’s sunshiny sentinels
season the rosy-fingered dawn
sprinkle happiness along my path
Angle poise your lustrous heads
that I can better catch your joy
make my morning laugh

And thank god it isn't Wordsworth, the boring old fart. (Am I allowed to slate Wordsworth on the poetry channel?) The last line made this, Oli. Framed to be full of joy - and it is. Phil. |

Simple but effective. I particularly like the alliteration of the first verse and the anglepoise reference in the second. It is a lovely time of year. Cliff |

I liked this. The anglepoise was a very good image. Each time I look at my lamp I will now think of daffodils, they might come and lock me away soon!!! |

I'd only read it once Oli, but the "angle poise" remark stayed with me so strongly that I thought of it when I drove past some wild daffodils near Kendal in the afternoon. A winner! |

| Wordsworth, like Wagner, has some terrific moments and terrible half hours. |

I didnīt particularly like daffodils before reading this but I think I will look at them differently now. My favourite lines: sprinkle happiness along my path make my morning laugh

| The first thing I've read this morning Oli, and all I can say is . . . . . . short, sweet and lovely! |

I know just what you mean, I had felt something similar the other moring walking the dogs. I'm not a poet so you said it for me. There'smore here in this short poem than in some epic sagas. cheers J |

Late to the party but liked this too. Second half especially. E |
