The New Blanket

This time of year always makes me think about New Life, so here's a little piece for all the Mums, Dads and Babies!

(Also I would like to submit this -over a year late - for the New Life topic on the Lazy Writer's Forum!)

Baby.

Sleeping soundly.

Knit one, purl one.

Father.

Reading paper.

Knit one, purl one.

Mother.

Rocking slowly.

Knit one, purl one.

Baby.

Screaming loudly.

Knit one; drop one…

…Baby.

…Father.

…Mother

Snoring loudly.

Simple idea, carried through pretty well. A little twee for my tastes, but I'm sure others will lap this up.

Hi TW. A nice idea, parenthood encapsulated in just 33 words. Was the use of 'pearl' instead of 'purl' intentional or just a spelling mistake?

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the comment, I'll be interested to see what you make of my next piece on the site...

Cliff,

Thanks for pointing out my spelling mistake. I typed this up in Word, read it through and was so excited to get it onto the site I didn't notice. Then, I read it though again in Word and spotted the mistake but forgot to change it on GW! Thanks for pointing it out. Glad you enjoyed it!

NOTE TO SELF: Proof read both texts.
