Alternative G+S

G and S were known to have shared a very earthy sense of humour. Traces of it remain e.g. Pinnafore where Capt. Corcoran ask Little Buttercup-(A bum-boat woman i.e. a prostitute.) what she is doing on board at "this late hour?".

Extract from The Pervets of Penzance.

When a pervert's not engaged in his perversion
(His perversion)
Or his pornographic books ceases to scan
(ceases to scan)
His capacity for innocent enjoyment
(cent enjoyment)
Is far more limited than any normal man
(normal man)
When the Oedipal's stopped jumping on his mother
(On his mother)
He goes and chases sheep out in the sun
(in the sun)
Taking one consideration with another
(with another)
A pervert's lot is quite a varied one
Aaah Aaah"

"So if you're thinking of new ways of having fun
(having fun)
A pervert's life is quite a varied one
(Varied one)"

God this is driving me mad I am trying to remember which song you are spoofing here and I can't. Please put me out of my misery.
Have you thought of submitting this to radio 4? There a programme presented by Mitch Benn that I'm sure could use this.
cheers

Spot on. I normally sing Tenor but I forced myself to sing barritone/base just so that I could sing in this song!

G+S is a good lively romp full of extreme silliness and political satire.

It's so bouncy that even us AmDrams can't harm it.

Brian.
I blame you!

Nicely done. I blame you entirely for my comic poem in response.

This is a really nice, (nasty) spoof!
