A poem inspired by the ancient German "fairy-tale" of the same name. It is set on the Rhine River in Eastern Germany. Her golden comb shines at the peak Her eerie song is what I seek Her long, blonde hair plays catch with the wind Her unspeakable beauty my heart does mend She sits on her mountain I stand in my ship Her eyes like a fountain My eyes on her lips She makes my heart flutter Whilst the rocks break my rudder As she blinks My ship sinks |
