A Strange But Familiar Place

Just some thoughts on things that drive me crazy.  Top of the list are automated phone systems!

Well I always knew it would be hot here.
That was no surprise.
But I thought there's be a more human element;
Prongs, pitchforks, horns and bare bottoms,
That sort of thing.
But to be sat here for all eternity with the headphones on
Listening to responses.
Press one if you want to make an equiry.
Press two if you want to change your details,
And so on;
The list seems endless.
And press one hundred and twenty five if you want to hear the options all over again.
Yes, there is no doubt.
This is definately hell.

Interesting idea.

Nit picks first:
Second line - there's should be there'd
Spelling - definately should be definitely

While I think this has potential, it might be better suited to short stories/flash fiction than poetry.

With you on the automated phone thing. I rang my son's school the other day - even they are doing it now.

Phil.
How about the music?

Typos aside, I like this, it's really witty. I did wonder if you'd considered also making any reference to listening to the same song endlessly. In my job I have to make a lot of phone calls and the music is dire! And it's always the same - as soon as it ends there's a pause of about three seconds before it starts all over again. There was another time when I had to spend ages listening to "Me and Mrs Jones", possibly the song I hate most in the world apart from that rather woman on the Halifax ads. By the time I got through to a person I wanted to kill someone!
