I think it's best if I let you draw your own conclusions about what I'm talking about here.

Forty years of bewilderment it took.
Forty years
going round in circles
after false prophets
crying in the dark
led awry
till you led me through a gate
into a green field
and light, such light, and a home
and love, such love
all I ever asked for.

a clue in line 4?

But it doesn't have to be "that", it can be anything you've been seeking, can't it? Love, recognition, religious belief ...

enjoyed.

Very nice sentiments, optomistically expressed; so I kind of hope it isn't religious. If it is don't tell me as it would spoil it.

I liked it too.
With Jane in her hopes.

I enjoyed this.

Nicely written and vague enough for the reader to have their own interpretation.

PS Herts/Essex border suggests Bishop's Stortford to me. If so, you're on the right site.

It's not about "finding religion" or "finding God" - it's about the years wasted pursuing things that weren't even worth having, about how painful that was, and about finding that personal "Holy Grail".

Yes I am very close to Bishop's Stortford. Glad you liked it - often when I've written something I look at it later and think "why did I ever think I could write?" So it's reassuring to think I might not be as bad as I thought!

Liked this. Like a few others I'm glad it wasn't about religious discovery.

Well put.

I agree with everything I read above. I'm so glad it wasn't religious.

And I'm happy that you found fulfillment
