The drug

after 7 years of the questions why i finally found an answer

It's nine years sice you took your life
I have changed my name, i'm still your wife.

I asked myself the same question for years
Console myself as i shed more tears.

I feel your presence now and then
Your only daughter is now ten.

She has photo's, often dreams of you
I've never regretted saying "I do".

Her questions how and why, i used to dread
Told her you had a poorly head.

What more could i really say?
I didn't know the answer's that day.

Admitted to hospital for a depressive state
You refused to communicate.

Tried a few tablets, one began to make you smile
Kept on those, weekend home leave for a while.

Your wish to be home, for your daughters first birthday
Your wish was granted, then you went away.

Discharged from hospital four days before
On my return you had secured all the doors.

I knew all along it wasn't in your heart
You said "you didn't want to part"

I believed every word you said
I knew your love for us wasn't dead.

Your mental health was to weak
On the tablets for six weeks

Given a drug that controlled your thoughts
The side effects to drugs i have self-taught

The tablet has now beng banned
Due to the increase of suicide in England.

I believe SEROXAT controlled your mind
To the extent you left us behind.

So the answer to our question why
The medication encouraged you to die...

Really tough one that. Can't give you anything but sympathy and the hope that it all works out for you.
