my soul

heart says it all

Here i sit in a world of my own
First time in years i don't feel alone.

The clock is ticking oh so loud
It's overpowering my silent sound.

The silent sound of silence in my head
No noise, the children are in bed.

I need to find a soulmate, someone who cares
Someone to cuddle instead of my teddy bear.

Don't get me wrong i enjoy my own space,
Yet sometimes its a lonely place.

No adult conversation for days on end
Only humor in a text from a friend.

But deep down, deep down inside
No-one knows the feelings i tend to hide.

Out bursts of aggression when i lose control
Control of my true feelings within my soul.

Hi Donna, I think I've read all your pieces up to now. You've certainly tackled some difficult issues in some of your poems.

While the themes you write about are very worthy, I feel that often they seem less important because of the style in which you've couched them. Language appears to be chosen because it rhymes, not necessarily because they are the exact words you would otherwise choose.

I wouldn't mind seeing one or two of your pieces developed more figuratively and perhaps written in a more open, less restrictive structure. I think that may suit your themes more than the form you have been using.

Hope this doesn't sound too negative. I'm not much of a poet myself, I just like reading it - just an opinion.

Phil.

hi thanks for your feedback, your opinion has being greatly accepted. i understand where you are coming from.

The reason for Writing the way i have is because i'm not really reading what i wrote while going through the issue,s raised. i'm just re-writing it without any actual feeling what i once felt but hope it helps others who have been there.

I found poetry hard when i went to college, i'm remembering that now. my tutor preferred my short stories/autobiography .

I will try a few more and put some thought into them.and have a go at short stories.

thanks again
