American Dream

Tribute to a old mate.

He played them all
just for fun
guitar, sax and drums,
never living nor hoping for
the American Dream,
his dream was in the
songs he sang
the music he played,
my old mate
Typhoon Willie
God Bless His Soul.

I like the simplicity of the poem; its resounding lines like an urgent omen. Did u intentionally capitalise P in Played (first line)?

Simple, honest. I'm sure Typhon Willie would be touched.
