Not sure why I’m writing this
I’m really a nice bloke
I sometimes say some cruel things
But only as a joke
I never meant to hurt your pride,
I just got carried away
with words. The way you seemed to.
Ignore the things I say
I’ll keep away from poetry
(It really isn’t me).
I just get angry now and then
At all the crap I see
Art isn’t art just because
The artist says it is.
But who am I to criticise
his work at all. It’s his.

Don't allow the moral minority to censor free comment - if GW poetry becomes an excercise in group-think and mutual back-slapping, then it ain't worth the bandwidth. Rip the p*ss out of my "work" anytime - I for one am not hyper-sensitive to either positive or negative crit. When we post to the forum, we are putting our work, and by extension ourselves, up to be shot at. Thats fine! If we don't want honest crit, negative and/or positive, we don't need to post. Period. I don't understand why many amateur poets are so precious, and so many professional ones take themselves so seriously. It's as though they are deaf and cannot hear the rest of the world snickering. However, most of us joined this site because we like to write. Not because we are particularly good at it. Therefore we ought, at least, to be courteous and kind, and constructive in our reviews. There are, on this site, some objectionable bastards who appear to derive joy from attacking others, especially those who have the temerity to disagree with their views. I'm not pleased that I may have been mistaken for one of those. Therefore, torn. Wltshr "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." | Written by stevetroster (1549 comments posted) 26th June 2007 | A minority with morals, nay, ‘tis the majority who have morals and the minority who are immoral. When we post to the forum we do want honest crit, negative and/or positive. Not ignorance from mendacious ‘poets’. My review. A valuable and honest poem Mr. wltshr. Bugger the poetic quality, it’s the content that is important.
