An unusual menagerie
By Phil
28 June 2007
Just some stupid doodles. Fun verse, no more.

An unusual menagerie

Derrick the suicidal rabbit

If I see another bloody carrot
I don’t think I’ll resist.
If I see another bloody carrot
I’ll slit my furry wrists.

Trevor: OCDog

I’m an obsessive compulsive licker
Of testicles and bums.
I know I shouldn’t do it
But I’m lacking human thumbs.
To wipe my arse is not a choice,
I have to lick it clean.
But really I enjoy it
Though the taste is quite obscene.

Colin the dare devil exhedgehog

I was mad me. Car dodged for fun.
I spotted headlights in the distance and set off at a run.
I timed it right to dodge the wheels,
I loved my followers loving squeals,
I never failed, the race I’d win,
I’d never been splattered awfully thin.
- Until I tripped over my shoe laces.

Winifred the surreal antelope

Said Winifred to the lion,
‘Would you like to dance the foxtrot while I grill this year old trout?’
Said to the lion to the antelope,
‘Don’t be stupid darlin’. Just stand still while I rip yer throat out.’

The last four lines of OCDog made me laugh out loud, you rotter Phil, showing up my funnybone like that.

Colin the daredevil ex-hedgehog could have a last couplet of

"imagine now the shock I feel -
Reliants have a middle wheel."

The last piece of verse didn't quite have the finesse of the other two :)
sorry

make that the other "three" not two. Had my screen scrolled down to the review box ...

Buggeration, I was blundering around for a Reliant ending for Colin. Gave up.

Funny, I know the last lacks finesse, but I like it the most.

Thanks Sue. Glad they raised a smile.

Phil.

is a terrible word to find a rhyme for: defiant? Giant?

What a funny poem poem phil! The Rabbit part was exceptionally funny, and of course, the last four lines of OCDog.
HAHAHA!

What a way to spend your time, whilst laid up with a leg in plaster- write verse like this, it must cheer you up immensly. It certainly cheered me up and othere too by the look of those reviews. I must say, I liked Trevor best, a most descriptive piece - and to think some folks encourage dogs to lick their hands and faces!
I hope your heel is healing up OK and you will soon be up and about again. I blame Thetis for the way she held you when she dipped you in the River Styx.

Winifred and Dog were my particular favourites.

'Said to the lion to the antelope.'

Said the lion to the antelope
A to too many I fear
But bugger it all, let's elope
I’ve always loved you, my deer.

Best wishes, now and always
Steve.

Can only echo previous comments Phil - The Suicidal Rabbit is hilarious as is the OC Dog.

Great to see some humour in the Poetry forum - too rare a commodity I fear.
