Jewels for Jules (3)

Dream me an island in crystal-bright waters,

with dolphins and puffins and frolicking otters.

I’ll dream you a meadow resplendent with flowers,

where we can link daisies for hours and hours.

Dream me a castle with minaret towers,

a moat and a drawbridge and rose scented bowers.

I’ll dream you a chamber with glassy domed ceiling,

the moon and the stars and the comets revealing.

Dream me a boudoir with big satin pillows,

a window that’s tickled by lilacs and willows.

I’ll dream you a lifetime of laughter and bliss,

with honey-sweet whisper and candy-sweet kiss.

rather more than a loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thou etcetera. I like the reciprocity of dream me/dream you in each verse.

I liked the middle verse best; I know of a bloke who built a bedroom ceiling that opened up for star-gazing on dry clear nights, but your dream idea is much more practical.

The most romantic so far Oli. I too liked the reciprical nature of each stanza. Hope they're working some magic.

Lovely.

What a treat to read something that is not only beautiful but makes full use of imagination, and is something that can be understood.

More please.
