Drinking deep your beauty now
bathed thus in the even-glow
bright-hued spikes are made to bow
tears of neither joy nor woe
palm-like fingers make a basket
fast to hold a diamond bright
every flower a fairy casket
cossets gems of pure daylight.

The lack of punctuation makes some of the lines read differently on separate readings, which makes me read again and again. We've all seen this ... possibly even taken photographs, without capturing the essence as you have here. I wondered if it was really one of the "Jules" poems? | Written by Phil (6713 comments posted) 29th June 2007 | My favourite garden flower, for all sorts of reasons - and rendered beautifully here in words. I like all your stuff Oli, but sometimes, you really hit home. Beautiful. Phil. | Written by Phil (6713 comments posted) 29th June 2007 | | By the way, sorry for nicking your bear. You have one part, I'll have the other. | Written by rilLie (327 comments posted) 29th June 2007 | "...bright-hued spikes are made to bow tears of neither joy nor woe " was really nice. :D I agree with Fellpony, you made me imagine colors without naming any. :D I loved it.
