A Sparrow's Sanctuary

a lot of things have happened since I last posted. -____-'' which is probably why I haven't posted for a long time, and sorry. :( a loved one died, and school just started, and yeah... I've been pretty busy.

Anyways, We had our Kapatiran Culminating Activity a while ago~!! It was really really really fun~!

Okay.. the Kapatiran activity is done with the Freshmen and the Seniors.  :iconluinahtzi:, :iconterysk45:, :iconczaren:, :iconsweetsolitude:, :icondetective-scorpio:, and I are some of the freshmen.  And then, we get to have partners from the other year. It's like a 'welcoming' initiation for the Freshmen, and a look back for the Seniors.  My sister's really nice.  She made me Oreo Tiramisu! Yum. :D

Kapatiran means "Sisterhood" or "Brotherhood" or just.. ahmm. *looks for word* oh.. "Siblinghood"! but that sounds really bad. anyway, we're an all-girl school, so I guess, it can be just "sisterhood" and yeah.

I wrote this poem as a Souveneir for her. :D I hope you guys like it. :)

A sparrow takes flight,
there's somewhere to go --
but nobody cares, nobody knows.

He soars up high,
a small white dot,
companion of clouds,
and part of their lot.

He flaps his wings,
his journey awaits.
It'll be a few minutes,
hours, and days.

No time for rests,
Can't stop to eat,
before it's too late,
when daylight disappears.

And then comes the thermal,
it sweeps, it glides,
he goes to the sparrow,
and rests at his side:

"Let me share this flight
with you across the sky.
Let me go high where problems look small,
together, let's pass our time...

Let me fly with you.
Just for once, take me with you."

The sparrow smiles, another flap,
accompanied by a "Thank you."

Yes, it talks to me, this poem. It shows that the 'bird's eye view' that we are told to take, is true.

The higher you get away from your problems, the more unimportant they seem.

I can't give you professional advice, as I'm not qualified to do so, but I'm sure others will.

So sorry about your loss.

Hi rilLie. Good to see you back. Sorry to hear about your loss.

A little rusty perhaps, but some pleasant images.

Phil.

Welcome back. We've missed you. What a busy life you have! I loved your poem. "companion of the clouds" is a nice expression to use for birds. Actually, when you are high up in an aeroplane and you look down on the small world, it seems impossible that so many problems are in so many tiny dots of homes. You are right - problems look small from up there. I've flown over many troubled areas of the world and looked down on the sorrow under the plane, and thought - - -

thanks. :) I missed this site a lot. :P

ahm.. yeah. :D I think the same way..xD like.. I've been to a few airpline rides myself, and usually when I'm bored, I just look out the window and try to imagine who's living in those houses below me, what kind of problems they have.. and yeah. :D
