To Keep Awake
By rilLie
01 July 2007
Mum and dad were fighting again last night. I woke up at midnight to find someone laughing in a really creepy way. :( when they settled down, I couldn't sleep anymore, so I went to the bathroom and wrote this.. It's not very nice, but I'm trying this thing of writing more so I could get better again. :) attack as you please. :)

I lie awake,
one late summer night,
hearing eerie laughter,
from the bathroom light.

It wasn't happy,
it wasn't fun.
It was disturbingly sad,
a very mind-bogling one.

A woman stands up,
I hear her cry.
I try to look asleep,
but I want to know why.

The woman steps forward,
shouting, sobbing.
I bury my head to the pillow,
and imagine I'm on wings.

They're both snoring loudly now,
though not so much at peace.
I'm alone as ever,
on the bathroom floor,

writing.
Always writing.
