hope you like this one

"Oh, I don't know" said Charlie
as he sat high in the tree,
"why all this fuss and bother,
is going on round me"

"why is that woman shouting,
come down, come down" she cries,
I only want to have a nap
to rest my weary eyes.

"what is that object coming,
 all red with flashing light,
it's got a man stuck on the top,
oh what a funny sight"

"oh no, its coming nearer,
I really must protest,
what does a poor cat have to do
to get a well earned rest"

"well i'm not staying here" he said,
he stood up proud and tall,
and as he passed the man he purred
"be careful you don't fall "

I liked this one and think kids would too. But I can imagine that anyone who has had the job of trying to get a cat out of a tree might enjoy it even more.

Very funny but often quite true. Cats are always a law unto themselves and I'm sure they laugh at humans. I would only find one small criticism and this is the result of teaching typing (and layout of poetry was one area): To make this look more professional, use capital letters at the start of your lines (and always for the start of a sentence), and indent 3 for the rhyming lines. You would not normally know this unless you had studied typing at advanced level.

Enjoyable poem, lacking a bit of punctuation and capitalisation though - not something you can get away with if you're presenting to kids.

Nonetheless, a good piece.

Phil.

Another good one. I've tried getting cats down myself - but I used a hosepipe!
