outcome of a state of emergency in a village

Vultures circle overhead
Eager to prick the bloated bellies

Soldiers prowl back and forth
Eager to snuff another protester’s life

Armoured tanks rumble like elephants
Eager to crush both grass and crops

The little boy wears a face like mask
Eager to snatch the forgotten rifle.

Hi Uche, believe me my friend my comments were a complement on the poem and for the fact that you are bringing to the attention of a audence that may not know what life is like for thousands upon thousands of people.

I am glad that Support your goverment forces and kivu were of use to you.

Take Care Mate.

Powerful ideas, but the words don't have the high impact of your previous piece. (For me anyway)

I think (and I could be completely wrong) it's because you move from one point to the next too quickly.

Don't get me wrong, well worth the read, just as poetry, not as hard hitting as your last.

Phil.
