Poetry
Mankind
By audrie

All these poems about 'creation' set me off again.

If we didn't have the darkness, how could we know the light
and who would know what peace was if we never had to fight?

How could we know what good is, if evil never reigned
and who would know what love is if the heart could feel no pain?

Who would know compassion, if all our limbs aligned
and who'd be thankful for their sight if none of us were blind?

We need the good we need the bad, we need the rocks to climb
to help us up this slippery slope we choose to call Mankind.

Excellent, Audrie. How glad I am that all this creation has "started you off". Don't get too carried away, ha ha. I liked this poem a great deal, and behind it was a real message of common sense.

I love this, very much the ying and yang philosophy to life and of course it makes perfect sense.

Could almost be a mantra as well as a poem.
