The Knockerman
By maipenrai
09 July 2007
now the knockerman came a knocking
on that merry christmas eve
a little fun he wanted
now he was out the grave
fair young maidens were his game
on that joyful christmas night.

now the knockermen have patience,
you do when your in the grave
waiting for that once a year
when you can get out to play.

they found her on that christmas morn
what a sorry sight she was , for
the knockerman had done his work
in a most cruel way indeed,
the policeman said she had been torn apart
a dreadful sight he said.

now the knockerman was grinning
his grin of deaths delight
for tonight in his cold, cold grave
he shall have a peaceful night.

Is this from a myth of entirely fictional?

Interesting story, but I found the rhythms of this one a little jarring. Can't put my finger on why I'm afraid.

your/you're - contracted form of you are

So much of your work involves violent death.

I worry about you, I really do!

Oli
Thanks

Oli, for your comments.

I think that a lot of what people write reflects their life, what they have done, what they have seen, where they have been.
I do think that is true with me and what I write and the way I write.
I was a long time in the Army and within a short time of leaving the Army got involved in Aid Work, in both those jobs you come across a great deal of violence and death, it must leave it's mark.

also that bugger King as a lot to answer for :grin

I am fine Oli and I thank you sincerly for your concern.
Bernie
