From the Heart (Life Sentence 2)
By gwyddyn

Second of the Life Sentence poems, From the Heart is about Tourettes Syndrome. I think we've all seen documentaries about the syndrome and how it affacts sufferers. I have tried to write from the sufferers POV. Read what you see and try to read aloud - hope it's OK.

I apologise for the obscenities - it sometimes goes with the territory.

Also, I am not trying to suggest that all parents of Tourettes sufferers are ashamed of their children, but I would be willing to bet some are ....

It is a fabulously moving poem.Yes the obscenities do go with the territory. Is this an issue close to your heart?

I actually read the 2nd poem first, but I'm sure when I read the first it will equal the standards of this.

It takes a true person to write work like that. :roll

Read this while listening to Elvis: The Lady Loves - but she doesn't know it yet (The wonders of afternoon telly) and this fits so well! Added an extra dimension.

On a more serious note, more of a performance poem than one to be read quietly. Not taking the mick when I say this by the way.
