In answer to Givitsum's question, yes, I am still knocking about, and I thought I would try something a bit different.
What do you think?
Harry and June were man and wife
They were wed way back during the war
The last time they both went out
Was when a bomb blew them both through the door.
They sat in the bar one Saturday night
She glanced at Harry, as his pint he supped
You haven’t spoken to me for months, she said
Well, said he, I don’t like to interrupt.
You never notice anything I do, she said.
Even when I laid there stark naked on the floor
I noticed that, he protested, lifting his glass
Your fanny hair ain’t been trimmed since 1974.
Well, she said, getting on her high horse
You in the buff, well, you ain’t all that
Your willy hanging there, pointing at your boots
I just wish sometimes it would point at your hat.

It's good and it made me laugh but I can't help feeling you ladies are letting a little gentle banter get to you. Seagull |

Thank you, Seagull. No, not in the least! I haven't written any poetry for a while, and thought I would try my hand at writing something a little different to my usual subject matter. |

Sit back and beg for butter milk! The lovely LunB! I never knew you had it in you. Well, you might have not had for a while, but thats another story. Grand to see you dipping your bread in the poetry morgue, and joining in the fun & games. This looks like fun. BlondeBillyBobThornton should have known she'd get people going, so I will try and muck in, for old times sake. Well done. Givitsum |

hang on, while I put me teeth back in. You can't trust them bombs. Pretty please, I don't know how to make something Pick of the Week, so you'll have to ask the bomb disposal squad to run a barricade around the hole until Ed and nascent return. |

Got my vote for pick of the week by the way. (Or that would be 'pick of several months' the regularity it gets changed. Hurrah! Phil |

Thanks, Phil! Well, it makes a change from mental breakdown and adultery, doesn't it?! |

| Instead of watching the rain running down the drain, I'd better get my gladrags back from the charity shop! I'm sure I should be on the "Downhill Slope" Ski-ing (spending the kids inheritance that is!) |

| Brilliant, LynB. Absolute gem. Stuff the prozac, just post more of these. (Is this the general thrust of White Lace & Promises?) Great stuff. |
