Erm, corruption? Betraying parents/religion/lovers? Drugs?

It's a bit general, but I like it.

[The lack of a capital on "father" was intentional, by the way.]

Forgive me, father, for I know not what I do.

I don't understand the axis on which
I am spinning,

my mind is so pre-occupied
with almost nothing,

it's almost better just to stop
and let my senses decide.

But my eyes play tricks, my ears deceive;
putting different echoes on words
I thought were clean.

Familiar smells turn bitter in my mouth
and I feel numb.

Such a contradiction summarises
the effects of what I did.

What did you do?

Liked this Clo. Had a really slow pulse which reflected the words - which in the first person were unsure.

Not sure the last two lines work for me. Most of this suggests an intellect lost in confusion, the last two are too analytical for me.

Liked anyway.

Phil.

This is intriguing. I enjoyed the poem, but like Phil I think the last 2 lines could do with a rethink.

Cheers,

The ideas are a bit incohesive, it doesn't really work for me. But I really like the lines "putting different echoes on words/I thought were clean."
