When it rains

Postby Sue » Thu May 10, 2012 10:33 pm

When I got home today it was raining hard, and husband was in a ferociously silly mood, voicing the thoughts of the cat, "I'm not going out there, the mice are all wearing lifebelts."

And so...

When trees wear the river
up over their roots,
then horses wear jackets
and cats put on boots.
The moles work in wetsuits,
the rabbits build boats,
and mice take to lifebelts –
but sheep have tweed coats.

Cute- something true for each animal- and thank you Sue, for cheering me up over all this rain we've been having.

We aim to amuse. Mind you, Deb, if I really see a mouse wearing a lifebelt or a mole in a wetsuit, I'll invite you to share whatever I'm drinking. I wouldn't want to go there alone!

Oh, I've seen loads of those. As I said, something true for each animal. Ha ha!

I like the poem too Sue, but I wonder what a dog would wear? I guess if it was anywhere near dragon's wood, it'd need a Kevlar jacket.

ooh sneaky!

Luckily most dogs have more sense than to get involved with dragon's.

Mind you I do have an image in my mind of a crack team of slavering canine's drawing lots to see who get's the honour of drooling on the dragon.

Hi Sue,

I don't understand this at all.

Moles in wetsuits?
Rabbits building boats?
Mice wearing lifebelts?

Next thing you'll be claiming that birds sing in colour and horses can talk!

I wish I'd stayed in my burrow, it's so complicated out here....

Thanks Brett. Aww, Ben! Sorry! I thought rabbits in boats would have been right up your street.
