Un Poeme Trouve

Postby katanga » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:12 pm

From a recent wretched purchase:

Directions for Use

While squeezing trap open
smear bait (e.g. chocolate spread)
inside the roof of the trap
on the circle marked 'bait'.

To set the trap
press gently until it locks open.
Place it along a wall
where mice have been seen.
Be sure the pedal end
is against the wall.

To discard mouse
simply squeeze trap
and release into a plastic bag.
Double bag before disposing in
a bin with a secure lid.

No need to handle the mouse.

And........?

I'm sorry John, and I know that people in glass houses should not throw things...but c'mon, this is not poetry in any form! Are you pissed? Bored? Bored and pissed off?

Sorry but not interested in the pc brigades instruction leaflet of your latest purchase! And it does not belong here.
You can do so much better!

I'm off to get the recipe label off my morrison value baked beans.

Ah, yes, S.B., you're right!

Not pissed, but bored while the muse is off on her skiing holiday . . .

Just keeping in touch and possibly raising the old chestnut debate about what poetry is, and why it's more than prose chopped up into different lines . . .

Respect to you - thanks for your honest, if slightly abrasive, comment!

Yo Swampy . . .

Getting my head down would be a fine thing!

If only someone would invite me . . .

It's a dangerous life, being a mouse
Moving on from house to house
But if the bell rings rodent over-flow
It's time to pack my bags and go

And then a vagrant I'll become again
Wondering where I'll find a friend
And a comfortable hole to lay my head
In a place that I won't wind up dead

But my tip to you is the brim of your hat
To keep me safe from owl, trap and cat
And I assure you that I will be discreet
If this friend for life you'll safely keep

(probably a six pack of red stripe hasn't helped)

Save the mouse, save the mouse!!!

I was not!!!!

All the very best, John.
