Rather than delete my story and then repost it with a new title, I felt it was simpler to rename the original and then give it a little bump.

Reminds me of Wolf Hall by H Mantel. That isn't a bad thing.

Steve,

I have, at the moment, only speed-read this. I think it is brilliant at first look.

I will read it more carefully as soon as I can. My immediate reaction is to think about stories told to me by a friend and an ex-colleague.

My friend was a medic in the Belgian army working with the UN peace-force helping the people in Serbia in 1990 and 1991 during the war .... he described pure horror.

He said to me, the exact words you wrote - “I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.”

My Colleague was a Belgian guy working in Rwanda and needless to say lost many Tutsi friends during the 'cleansing'

This at, first read, seems to concentrate the horrors of Ethnic cleansing. Probably I'm wrong, but as I said, so far I've only speed-read this.

Cheers, Keith.
I hope you still enjoy it when you read it properly.

Hi Steve,
I read this in full. To really understand this I need to look up all those names, however, I certainly am in no doubt who General Loan is.

I think this is written in second person (not sure) and it works well. At some point I am wondering if 'you' is the photographer Adams, but then I guess 'you' could be hundreds of war photographers/journalists, or just millions of victims.

Bugger this is getting deep. Nuff said, this is great and guranteed to make anybody with a brain think a bit deeper than whether lager tastes better than ale.

Should be published somewhere. Hope it is.

BTW who's this samogon bloke?

''You'' is anybody and everybody, either as individuals or a whole unit. It was my intention that this be read as the choices of both man and mankind alike.
To that end, I have reverted back to the story's original title: All ''Our'' yesterdays, not ''Yours''.

All the best,
Steve

Samogon: Thu Feb 23, 2012: ''Reminds me of Wolf Hall by H Mantel. That isn't a bad thing.''

A comparison that I struggle with, if I'm being honest.
However, I do accept that even the best of minds can easily be betrayed by their memory playing tricks on them - recalling events and situations that are either inaccurate or incomplete.
Regardless, I thank you for finding time in your busy schedule to drop in and comment.
Kind regards,
The Flesh of The Christ.

I can't say I know what this is about; I would say that it has essences of old French themes like the Three Musketeers and Balzac, but so confused in my humble opinion. I do admire your attempts Messiah and grant you a certain degree of respect, but work is needed.

Your lack of perception is quite astounding, Samo. However, I will accept that you cannot understand that which the more erudite of your peers have managed to grasp with ease.
And I will gladly adopt the roll of kettle, if you accept that you are the blackest of pots.
